#TAGtribe Blog – Have you been a victim of “after Christmas” recently?

Xmas-six-million

Have you been a victim of “after Christmas recently?”

Did you have a six million dollar order in the pipeline, thought it was just about to happen only to be told suddenly, “We will make a decision after Christmas.”

At other times of the year this is know as “the slow no” or “I have not got the balls to tell you no – yet” or “my boss told me to get three quotes, I don’t care ‘coz I don’t have to.”

There are people that need your help, they ask for it and then forget to tell you they have found a solution – when all the time you have been looking out for them.

A simply delicious attribute in any person is the ability to let people know where you stand with them.

(This by the way is not a bionic power.)

Keeping in touch ranges from returning calls rather than keeping you hanging, asking your permission before they market to you and not assuming that everyone you know will want their product.

In 2011 consider if you should be starting a conversation about buying something in the first place or are you getting someones hopes up without thinking it through? Are you pretending to be interested in the hope they will SUDDENLY want your service?

TAGtribe is about conversations instead of pitches.

TAGtribe members connect at regular monthly events in different contexts where conversations can easily flow.

Looking to do even more networking in 2011? – This is not for you.

  1. Hasn’t happened to me yet Bernie but just off the phone with a friend who was told “We will make a decision after Christmas.” about their probation period becoming a job who today has been told that the employer no longer has a job to offer them.
